professional hsds dancers
Alexis olson
Early Career:
After graduating high school, Alexis continued her dance training on scholarship with the Synergy Dance Company at Utah Valley University, where she spent a year performing and training in modern dance. Her time with Synergy deepened her artistry and strengthened her technical foundation, but Alexis’s true passion in dance has always been teaching.
Professional Career:
Alexis began assisting and teaching at Hot Shots at just 15 years old and continued through the age of 26. After high school, she transitioned from assistant to leading competition teams of my own. Over the years, Alexis had the opportunity to work with numerous teams and choreograph a wide range of pieces, including jazz, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, and more. She created choreography for full team routines as well as solos, duets, and trios. In addition to competition teams, she also taught technique classes and weekly specialty classes such as tap and tumbling.
More than anything, Alexis cherished the relationships that she built with her students. Her goal as a teacher was not only to develop strong, versatile dancers but to help each student grow in confidence and self-belief both on and off the dance floor. She worked to instill a genuine love for dance that would stay with them long after their studio years.
Alexis says, “My years teaching at Hot Shots were incredibly meaningful, and I will always be grateful for the time I spent growing alongside so many talented dancers.”
